Rename, pause, or disconnect an inbox

On Inboxes, click an inbox's name to rename it, or choose Disconnect on its row. On Pro, choose Pause to stop syncing an inbox without deleting it. Disconnecting deletes the stored sign-in and synced mail.

How do I rename an inbox?

  1. On Inboxes, click the inbox name.
  2. Type the new label (up to 80 characters) and press Enter. Press Escape to cancel.

How do I pause an inbox? (Pro)

A paused inbox keeps its sign-in and synced mail, stops syncing, and is hidden from your AI. It does not use a slot on your plan. You can have up to 2 paused inboxes.

  1. On Inboxes, choose Pause on the inbox and confirm.
  2. To bring it back, choose Resume under Paused inboxes. Your plan needs a free slot.

If Resume is missing and the row says you have used this week's switches, wait a few days and try again. More about switching: Paused inboxes.

How do I disconnect an inbox?

  1. On Inboxes, choose Disconnect on the inbox.
  2. Confirm. We delete the stored sign-in or password and the synced mail right away.

An inbox you never finished connecting shows Remove instead. It works the same way.

Your plan does not change when you disconnect. To pay for fewer inboxes, lower your plan in Settings. Your mail at the provider is not touched.

For Gmail, disconnecting also asks Google to remove Inbox Triage's access. For other providers, you can remove access on their side too. See How do I remove Inbox Triage from my Google, Microsoft, Apple, or Yahoo account?
