How do I connect iCloud Mail to Claude or ChatGPT?

Sign in at appleid.apple.com, open Sign-In and Security, then App-Specific Passwords, and create one.
On the Inboxes page, add your iCloud address and choose Connect. Paste the app-specific password on the private form.
Add Inbox Triage to your AI app once. In Claude, add a custom connector with https://getinboxtriage.com/mcp and sign in. In ChatGPT, turn on Developer mode (paid plans) and create an app with the same address. In Claude Code, run one command. See the steps for each app.

A hosted MCP server, nothing to run

Your AI app connects to https://getinboxtriage.com/mcp and you sign in to Inbox Triage in your browser. There is no package to install, no config file to edit, and no server to keep running. Why iCloud needs an app-specific password

Apple does not accept your Apple ID password in other mail apps, and iCloud Mail has no "Sign in with Apple" option for them. Apple's answer is an app-specific password: it works for one app, and you can revoke it without changing your Apple ID password. See Apple's page on app-specific passwords.

Read and search your mail, including older mail on Apple's server.
Show what needs you first, with your VIPs at the top.
Archive, move to Trash, or mark as junk. Each change can be undone for 7 days.
Find newsletters and unsubscribe, after you approve it.
Write replies in your Drafts folder, and send one after you turn sending on and approve it.

What it cannot do

See your Apple ID password. The app-specific password is separate, and your AI never sees that either.
Send without your approval.
Read Junk or Trash.
