Use Inbox Triage with Claude Code

Add the server

1. In your terminal, run:

   claude mcp add --transport http inbox-triage https://getinboxtriage.com/mcp

2. Start Claude Code and run /mcp.
3. Pick inbox-triage and choose Authenticate. A browser window opens.
4. Sign in to Inbox Triage and choose Allow.

If choosing Allow shows Confirm your email address first, open the link we emailed you when you signed up, or choose Send a new confirmation link in Settings. Then start the connection again.

Slash commands

Inbox Triage's starter prompts show up as slash commands:

• /mcp__inbox-triage__triage_today: today's mail, what needs you first.
• /mcp__inbox-triage__since_last_check: everything since your last triage.
• /mcp__inbox-triage__vip_catch_up: only mail from your VIPs.
• /mcp__inbox-triage__clean_up_newsletters: review mailing lists to drop.
• /mcp__inbox-triage__reply_to_what_needs_me "Work Gmail": draft replies. The inbox name is optional.
• /mcp__inbox-triage__draft_reply 3 "yes to Tuesday": draft a reply to row 3 of the last list.

Put arguments that contain spaces in quotes.

Numbered lists

A terminal cannot show the interactive inbox view, so you get numbered lists instead. Refer to rows by number: "open 3", "archive 2 and 5", "unsubscribe from 1". Drafts print with To, Subject, and the full body. Every archive, trash, or spam can be undone for 7 days: say "undo that".

How do I approve a send from Claude Code?

Sending, unsubscribing, and reporting spam need your approval on getinboxtriage.com. Claude Code prints a link, and Inbox Triage also sends you a push notification or email. Open it, check the message, and choose Send (you may be asked to sign in again or use a passkey). Typing yes in the terminal does not send. Sending must be turned on first. Removing a VIP, or archiving, trashing, or marking spam on a VIP's message, works differently: Claude Code has to ask you in the chat first and only goes ahead once you say yes.
