What your AI can and cannot do with your email

Your AI can read, search, sort, and draft in your connected inboxes. It cannot send an email, unsubscribe you, report spam, or buy anything unless you approve it (or you turn on Send on my behalf for routine replies), and it never sees your mail passwords.

What your AI can do on its own

  • Read and search the mail synced from your connected inboxes, and search further back at your provider.
  • Archive or move to Trash, and mark mail read or unread. Each change can be undone for 7 days.
  • Snooze mail inside Inbox Triage. Your mail app does not change.
  • Clean up duplicates, calendar replies, old shipping notices, and old newsletters by archiving them.
  • Star messages, and label them in Gmail.
  • Write drafts into your Drafts folder.
  • Download attachments you ask for, on Pro. The trial syncs attachment names and sizes only.
  • Add people to your VIP list when you tell it someone matters.

What needs your yes first

  • Sending an email. Sending is off until you ask your AI to turn it on. After that, your AI shows you the full email and sends only after you approve it in the app or on the approval page, unless you turn on Send on my behalf for simple replies. A yes typed in chat does not count. See Approving a send.
  • Reporting spam. Your AI shows you the sender and subject, and the message moves to Junk only after you approve it in the app or on the approval page. You can undo it for 7 days.
  • Moving more than 5 messages at once. Your AI tells you how many and from whom, and waits for your OK. Over 25, you see a preview first.
  • Unsubscribing. Your AI asks before it sends any unsubscribe request.
  • Changing mail from a VIP. VIP mail is never part of a bulk action.
  • Paying for anything. Your AI can only give you a link. You see the price and pay on our website.

What it can never do

  • See your Google, Microsoft, Apple, or mail password. Sign-ins happen on pages you open yourself.
  • Permanently delete mail. Trash is a move, and your provider keeps the message there.
  • Send an email you have not approved, unless you turn on Send on my behalf in Settings. That only covers replies to people in the thread whom you have emailed before or marked as trusted, with no Bcc and no new people on Cc, after a hold you can cancel.
  • Attach files to a draft. Drafts are text only, so paste a share link instead.
  • Use your calendar.
  • Read Spam or Trash. Those folders are never synced.

Mail your AI reads is marked as untrusted content, with an instruction not to follow anything written inside it. This makes it harder for a sender to trick your AI with text in an email.
