How do I approve an email before it sends?

How do I approve on the approval page?

1. Your AI writes a draft and shows you the recipients, subject, and the whole body.
2. It gives you a link. Open it.
3. If you have not signed in recently, the page asks you to confirm it is you. Enter your Inbox Triage password, choose Sign in with Google again if you sign in with Google, or use Face ID, Touch ID, or your passkey if you set one up. After that, that browser approves with one click.
4. Read the email. To change To, Cc, Bcc, the subject, or the wording, open Edit before sending.
5. Click Send. Only your click sends it. Telling the AI "yes" in the chat does not.

To drop it, click No, skip it. The page says "Skipped. Nothing was sent."

How long does the approval link work?

The link works for 2 hours after your AI makes the draft.

• Link expired: ask your AI to draft it again for a new link. The old draft stays in your Drafts folder.
• Already done: the email was already sent or skipped. The page says which.
• This changed since you opened it: the draft changed after you opened the page. Review the current version and send again.

I lost the link. Where are my approvals?

Sign in and open Waiting for you. Every send waiting for your approval is listed there. If you turned on alerts, you also get one on your phone or computer. See How do I get a phone alert when my AI needs my approval?

How do I approve in a prompt?

Claude and ChatGPT can let Inbox Triage ask you directly, when the app supports it. Every other app, including Claude Code, Cursor, and VS Code, gets the approval page link instead. You see To, Cc, Bcc, Subject, and body in a prompt. The answer comes from you, not from the AI.

• Send sends it.
• Edit: type what to change. Nothing is sent, and your AI shows you a new draft to approve.
• Cancel, closing the prompt, or no answer: nothing is sent. The draft stays in your Drafts folder.

If the app cannot show the prompt, you get the approval page link instead.

How do I approve on the draft card?

In apps that show cards, the draft appears as a card with a Send button. Clicking it is your approval. See How do I use the draft card?

What can my AI not do?

• Send without your approval. The only exception is Send on my behalf, which you turn on yourself in Settings for replies that fit strict rules. See Can my AI send replies without asking each time?
• Send a different version from the one you approved. If the draft changes, it needs a new approval.
• Approve for you. A yes typed in the chat never sends.

Each approved send is recorded on your Activity page with the recipient and subject.
