ChatGPT

Read Gmail, Outlook and iCloud in one ChatGPT chat

Yes, ChatGPT can work with Gmail, Outlook, iCloud, Yahoo, and other IMAP inboxes together through Inbox Triage. You create one app in ChatGPT's Developer mode, connect up to 10 inboxes on our site, and ChatGPT reads, sorts, and drafts across all of them.

How do I connect Outlook and Gmail to ChatGPT?

  1. Create an Inbox Triage account. The trial needs no card.
  2. On the Inboxes page, add each address and choose Connect. Gmail and Outlook sign in on Google's or Microsoft's own page. iCloud, Yahoo, and AOL take an app password, and other IMAP inboxes a password or app password, on a private form, never in the chat.
  3. On chatgpt.com in a browser, click your name or picture in the bottom left, then Settings. The phone app does not have these settings.
  4. Open Apps (some accounts say Apps and Connectors, or Connectors).
  5. Scroll to Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode. It needs a Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, or Edu plan.
  6. Back on Apps, choose Create.
  7. Name: Inbox Triage. MCP server URL: https://getinboxtriage.com/mcp. Authentication: OAuth.
  8. Tick the confirmation box, choose Create, then sign in to Inbox Triage and choose Allow.
  9. Start a new chat. If the tools do not show, click + in the message box, then More, and pick Inbox Triage.
  10. Ask ChatGPT: "What came in today across all my inboxes?"

A Business or Enterprise workspace admin may need to allow Developer mode first. ChatGPT renames these menus from time to time; look for Developer mode first.

Sending from ChatGPT

ChatGPT shows you the draft. To send it, you approve it in ChatGPT's own confirmation prompt, or on the approval page it links to. Typing yes in the chat is not enough, and sending must be turned on first. See turn sending on or off.

What it costs

The free trial lasts 7 days and includes 3 inboxes. No card needed. Pro is $15/mo for 5 inboxes, plus $2/mo for each extra inbox, up to 10. See pricing

Questions about Gmail, Outlook and iCloud in ChatGPT

Can ChatGPT read my Outlook and Gmail together?

Yes. Connect both inboxes to Inbox Triage and add Inbox Triage to ChatGPT once. One question can then cover both.

Can ChatGPT read my iCloud email?

Yes. Make an app-specific password at Apple, enter it on our private form, and ChatGPT reaches the iCloud inbox through Inbox Triage. See iCloud Mail in your AI app.

Which ChatGPT plans can do this?

Creating an app needs Developer mode, which is on Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Edu plans. You set it up in a browser at chatgpt.com.

Can I set it up on my phone?

Set it up once in a browser. The phone app does not have the Developer mode settings.

Will ChatGPT send email as me without asking?

No. Sending is off by default, and when it is on, every email waits for your approval in ChatGPT's prompt or on the approval page.

Does ChatGPT see my email passwords?

No. Passwords and sign-ins happen on Google's, Microsoft's, or our private pages. ChatGPT only gets access to Inbox Triage.
