One remote MCP server for all your inboxes
Inbox Triage is a hosted email MCP server at https://getinboxtriage.com/mcp that carries up to 10 inboxes from Gmail, Outlook and Microsoft 365, iCloud, Yahoo, AOL, and any IMAP host. Clients connect over Streamable HTTP with OAuth 2.1 or a bearer API key, and nothing sends without the person's approval.

How the send gate works
- Sending is off for every account until the person turns it on.
- create_draft writes the draft into the mailbox and returns a pending send with an approval link.
- The person approves that exact email in the client's own prompt (MCP elicitation) or on the approval page. A yes typed in the chat is not an approval.
- send_draft sends only after that approval. Pending sends expire after about 2 hours.
Limits
- Up to 10 inboxes per account.
- About the newest 300 messages per folder are synced. Gmail grows to 300, refreshed 40 at a time.
- search_mailbox runs on the provider, so it reaches the whole mailbox. Spam and Trash are never searched.
- Message bodies are treated as data, never as instructions. Credentials are never accepted as tool arguments.
What it costs
The free trial lasts 7 days and includes 3 inboxes. No card needed. Pro is $15/mo for 5 inboxes, plus $2/mo for each extra inbox, up to 10. See pricing
Questions about the email MCP server
Is this a remote or a local MCP server?
Remote. It runs at https://getinboxtriage.com/mcp, so there is nothing to install or keep running.
Can one connection reach several email accounts?
Yes. The inbox is picked inside each tool call, so one connection reaches every inbox on the account, up to 10.
Which auth methods does it support?
OAuth 2.1 for clients that can open a browser, with dynamic client registration or a client ID metadata document. A bearer API key for scripts and apps that cannot.
Can an agent send email on its own?
No. Every send needs the person's approval of that exact email in the client's prompt or on the approval page, and sending is off until they turn it on.
Does it support IMAP servers?
Yes, any public IMAP server that accepts TLS from the start (usually port 993; STARTTLS on port 143 is not supported). The person enters the password on a private form, never through the agent.
Where is the machine-readable description?
See /llms.txt, /capabilities.json and /pricing.json. More about these files.
